Data & Privacy
Humans first.
Always.
Trust is the whole product. Researchers send us unpublished sequencing data — sometimes years of work — and we treat it like it belongs to them, because it does.
Your scientific data
How we handle sequencing and 'omics data clients send us.
No duplication
A single working copy of your data lives inside our secure environment for the duration of the project. We don't back it up to third-party cloud storage, and we don't spin off derivative copies outside the analysis pipeline.
Local, secure analysis
All processing happens on infrastructure we control, in Canada. No SaaS analysis platforms. No pipelines that send data to third-party APIs.
Never seen by AI
Client data is never fed to a large language model, an AI assistant, or any automated agent — including for triage, drafting, or summarization. This is a hard, non-negotiable rule.
Never shared
We never share your raw data, intermediate files, or downstream analyses with anyone outside our team. Deliverables go only to you.
Data-elimination protocols
At the end of an engagement — or earlier, on request — working copies are securely deleted following a documented protocol. You keep the deliverables; we don't keep the data.
A note on website analytics
This site collects basic traffic analytics. That's a different thing.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless, privacy-respecting service that tells us things like "how many people visited the Publications page today." No cookies are set, no personal profiles are built, and there's no cross-site tracking.
This is ordinary web-traffic data. It is separate from — and unrelated to — the handling of the scientific data described above. We think it's worth calling that out explicitly, because otherwise it can read like a contradiction.
See our full Privacy Policy for what we collect from contact-form submissions and how it's used.
